Housing Adaptations project - Get Involved

genHOME new website has now been launched.  We will be using it to keep people updated on the work being carried out in the project.

One of the first tasks this year will be to map out the existing evidence and I need to recruit a small but willing group of reviewers who can assist me search the journals and appraise the literature.  If you are interested please complete the get involved form here or email

Introduction to Counselling Weekend Workshop

This is a short, intensive weekend course designed to give people a taste of counselling skills used within any helping relationship. The course is designed to introduce counselling skills to those who have an interest, or who would like to extend and develop their existing listening skills.

Participants tend to be those who seek to develop the use of counselling skills in their working or personal relationships, or who are already using them within their working role, but would like to develop them more effectively.

The Unit for Child and Youth Studies offers a range of CPD opportunities for professionals working with children and young people.

CPD events are underpinned by the Unit's research and by the latest policy and research developments.

The next annual conference for practitioner-researchers will take place on the 11 & 12 July 2012 with the theme of ‘Articulating our Values & Virtues’.
