Physiotherapy students and staff participated in providing 'World Spirometry Day' free lung function testing at York St John University for the first time.
120 people were tested over the week. 20 people tested were recommended to see health care providerse following abnormal results.
Paul Humphrey, a lecturer in physiotherapy, said: "Our aim was to raise awareness of spirometry testing and to encourage York residents to get checked. Early diagnosis can have a huge impact on a patient's life as it enables them to manage their condition themselves and get the treatment they need." |
