September 2009 sees the arrival of the new Foundation Degree in Working with Children and Young People. This complements our Foundation Degree in Supporting Learning which, as the name suggests, is designed for those working in educational establishments.

CPD in Africa

In July, the first successful group of lecturers following the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP) graduated in Kenya. The ceremony attended by the ex-president of Kenya, His Excellency Daniel Arap Moi saw the presentation of certificates by the VC, Professor Dianne Willcocks. A second cohort of 35 lecturers from 5 Nairobi universities has just begun the course led by Dr Mike Calvert. A similar course at the National University of Rwanda has also just been completed.

The PCAP course is proving to be hugely popular overseas and our Bahrain programme is now in its fourth year.
