Meetings and Updates
Branch meeting:
The branch meeting last week (21st of March) was well attended with more than 20 members in attendance.
Following discussion on the implementation of the Academic Work Planning Model, feedback is being circulated to all members. It is essential that members continue to engage in the debate as the final joint meeting between UCU, HR and the Deans is scheduled for the 11th June.
Updates:
1. Industrial action in defence of the Teacher's Pension Scheme is planned for the 10th May with UCU members in England and Wales joining the civil service union PCS and parts of the Unite union on strike. Locally, however, it has been decided not to implement a picket line and members should make their own personal decision about strike action on the day.
2. With the retirement of Diane Cadman, there is a vacancy for an Environmental rep on the UCU committee. Anyone who is interested in taking on the role can obtain further information by clicking on this link or speaking to one of the committee members.
