The activity - section five: discuss your transcript

When you next meet with your group, bring your transcript and the notes you made on the questions in the previous section of this activity.

Compare your transcript with those made by the other members of your group. Are they the same? If not, how do they differ? Can you work out why these differences have occurred?

Compare your answers to the questions (and anything else interesting that you noticed in the transcript). How does your group's use of English as a lingua franca help, or not help, you to achieve the aims of your discussion? Is there anything that you might try differently next time you are using English in an ELF situation? What?

In this video, Ollie and Stavros are talking about the transcript of an extract from a discussion they had on a previous occasion. The transcript they are discussing is below the video player.
