Additional information

However, illustrative guidance is provided in the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and Supporting Learning (2011) on typical roles or career stages broadly associated with Fellowship.

'Descriptor 2 reflects main grade teaching responsibilities and is the expected Descriptor for all staff who undertake substantive teaching as part of their role. All the Areas of Activity, Core Knowledge and Professional Values must be effectively demonstrated whilst recognising the diversity of staff who, in different ways, provide such teaching and support' (HEA).

A more detailed exploration of what is required for Descriptor 2 can be found in Framework Guidance Note 2: What are the Descriptors at: http://www.heacademy.ac.uk/ukpsf in the section titled Using Descriptor 2.
